$13 Software Makes an Auto Performance Meter Out of Your iPhone!

iPhones and iPod touches have accelerometers to detect their screen orientation. Many applications take advantage of this as game controllers and other novelty programs, but these two programs make a great use of this built-in hardware, they work as automobile performance meters, like the G-Tech.

Dynolicious, $12.99

g-tac, $4.99

You do need to have a $200-$500 iPhone or iPod touch, of course, but if you already own one (we've got an iPod touch), it's an inexpensive way to do accelerometer-based performance testing.
