I really like the look of the cars. They seem like things that real guys would build, unlike the shiny custom stuff in magazines and on the cable shows. And that much meaner for not being shiny and perfectly made. Check out the rod with 5 skulls for a grille at 2:45.
That vid's from July 7, 2007. Looks like the Heavy Rebel Weekender Show has been going since 2001 and was held again this past July, but this was the first I'd heard about it.
Also note that video was posted by one Steve Wishnevsky, aka "St. Wish," maker of some, uh..., interesting musical instruments. (wishnevsky.com) I discovered his videos via one of his eBay listings.
